Our Bible Verses

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The secret to living life in the middle of all the world's challenges and troubles is to trust God. When trusting God is fully lived out, we can then make this statement, “I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.” It is Jesus who sustains, provides, and guides the Christian into this way of life. Be careful of understanding this phrase as a guaranteed promise, that God will bless whatever someone does, it is not. Obedience to God and service are expected within which this statement will be true.

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

St. Paul proclaims that there is victory in Jesus. That is, anyone who trusts in the saving work of Jesus on the cross is proclaimed innocent. There is now no condemnation for sinners who trust in Jesus because God has condemned sin in the flesh by sending Jesus to pay the penalty of sin for all who believe in him. Do you trust Jesus to do this, if so, you are free from your sin. Thanks be to God!

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Chapter 41 of Isaiah reminds the people of God that He controls world history, and as a result, their circumstances. Therefor God is with them and will protect and comfort them. They need this assurance because they are questioning God’s faithfulness. Isaiah has warned the people that they were in danger of Exile, and indeed they are being disciplined in Babylon for their lack of faith. God affirms that even though life looks bleak, he is present and will care for them. God will sustain them because he is righteous and always does the right thing for his people. God does this for you too, as you call out to him for help in your circumstances.
